Birthweek and Other Birthday Thoughts

I believe in birthweeks, rather than birthdays. This tradition is more so for the convienience of the family and friends of the person who is being celebrated. It allows for the celebration to be on the day that works best for everybody, and it gives a range of time to send birthday wishes. (Eh... all that is kinda bullshit, but the Kremer's really do celebrate birthweeks!)

I once had friends deliever a suprise birthday party for me a month after my birthday... and damn was that a suprise! (Thanks Lauren & company)

Is the only way to feel aged by attaining different accomplishments (graduating, marriage, kids, pain? haha)... or lack of accomplishments by a certain age (going back to college at age 50)?

Part of me feels like... I want to be 23 forever... regardless...

The other part of me feels like... bring on the gray hairs, the ups and downs... BRING IT ON LIFE!!!

(That was a true insight into Nicole's random, skip-hoppy mind!)

Concentrate on Driving

We were on a nice Sunday drive back to Minneapolis. Avoiding traffic on I-94, Jason and I cruuuuuuised on highway fiddy-five… when along came a road sign that cried out to us, “Concentrate on Driving!!!”

Really???

Is this necessary???

What other road sign suggestions will we be seeing in the future???

I'll tell you what I want, what I really really want...

I'll tell you what I want, what I really really want... STABILITY!

So far this summer, Nicole has been inundated with ends and beginnings, hellos and goodbyes, and all the transitions in between. Nicole moved to uptown Mpls with her lovely boyfriend, Jason; finished college, finished student teaching, said "so long" to many friends and students, is proceeding to get her MN teaching license, and job searching in many degrees.

What was that? You want to know what is stable in Nicole's life for now and into the future? Well if Nicole has any say in it Jason, family and friends seem to be the only stability. (Nicole just told me to tell you all "Thank you and I love you.")

Nicole is in a search for multiple jobs. Previously she was more concerned with finding a teaching position... but sadly the likelihood of finding a teaching job in MN is not as likely as Mary Poppins floating into a nanny job. Nicole is quite alright with the idea of substitute teaching this coming fall.

Today, Nicole essentially was searching for yet another job for the summer and walked around to book stores, coffee shops, random accessory stores, even a day care center eeeek! After Nicole's trying effort she stumbled upon, the one of many, the ever so common..... Dunn Brothers! Nicole exuted some confidence and -hook, line and sinker- Nicole should be having an interview with the owner within a few days!

Friends and Family of Nicole... Be happy! Nicole may have a second job to pay the bills and maybe have some jinga to come visit you and play. Although, does this mean Nicole will be working rather than be available for play??? Don't let this happen; you all know that Nicole falls into peer/family-pressure quite easily.

Shout out to Scott Thompson for making me go to Valley Fair with our students!!!

Procrastination 2

Well this next blog is for the people that haven't talked to me for awhile. I just moved in with the bf (ooooh sinner!). I reside in Uptown now. Also, I just finished my college career and am struggling to find a J-O-B. Of course my present state- regardless of my [almost] masters degree and no job- is spat into my face everytime Daddy calls... That's right, there is no more friendly "hello's," just "gotta job yet? gotta job yet???"

Okay, more later! I must go eat some succulent teriyaki kabobs with the Newmans.

Procrastination

I have a blog!... rather than studying for my Praxis (licensure) test with Rach.

Okay I promise to write later... back to [starting to] studying!
